Chan Canasta Magi-CD

The book by David Britland, Chan canasta - A Remarkable Man, caused quite a sensation in the magical world. It was published by Martin Breese in 2000. This was the first time that any of canasta's own commercial effects had been explained in print with the exception of a rather complex card routine offered for sale by Harry Stanley back in the 1960s.

The research material that was used to create the book was basically two video cassettes of Chan canasta at work on television, a film shown in cinemas and a number of audio tapes of early television broadcasts owned by Martin Breese. Other reference material included magazine and newspaper articles together with observations from various magicians who had had the opportunity to see canasta at work and from others who knew him personally.

Following the success of the intial book and the two small booklets that followed it Martin Breese decided to release a CD on Chan canasta which would be narrated by a professional and would draw on the various recordings that were available. The voice of Chan canasta is featured and you will hear him at work in various shows and all of the material featured is explained by David Britland in great detail. The voice of Harry Stanley is heard as well.

Dave Kelly, a professional broadcaster, is your narrator and David Britland wrote the script. Martin Breese produced this audio CD programme at a studio in Brighton, England.
