           This is one of the better books on vent that's been published in the past 35 years. The author - George Schindler - is not only a long time pro vent, he's a magician. In fact, George is the current Dean of the Society of American Magicians. George brings to this outstanding book a lifetime of practical performing experience as both a vent and a magician.

           This book gives the reader not only a solid grounding in basic ventriloquial technique, but also chapters on developing comedy material, selection of a vent puppet, distant voice, putting an act together, selling the act, and much, much more. Yes, there are scripts, too! 

          One of the best sections in this book is on the use of comedy movements on the vent figure. George discusses the proper way to utilize them, etc. This is a topic that should be given serious consideration by any student of vent, whether novice or long-time pro. The proper use of the comedy movements is rarely addressed in books on vent, but it's certainly given its due attention here.

           All in all, a great package. Great basic knowledge, a fair amount of advanced information, scripts material, great photos.... How can you lose?
