A deck is shown front and back and while they are dribbled from hand to hand, a spectator
freely calls out STOP. From this point ten cards are removed, the spectator mentally selects one,
then shuffles the packet. The spectator now counts the cards into a handkerchief, they're wrapped and
then placed in full view.
A second deck (with a contrasting back colored black) is shown front and back and ten cards are given
to a second spectator. At this point, it can be confirmed that the duplicate of the selected card is not
in this packet. The spectator counts this packet into a second handkerchief, it is wrapped and also placed
in full view. After a magic pass and without the aid of palming or any other moves), the first packet is
counted by the spectator and there are only nine cards (no false counts).
The spectator is now asked to confirm that his thought of card has vanished from the packet. The magician
now pulls the second packet from the handkerchief and for the first time asks the name of the selected
card. The magician very cleanly counts this packet and there are eleven cards and one has a different
colored back. This card is removed and found to be the selected card (this may be done with more than
one card).
