P and L Ultra Perfect Card Box by Petrie-Lewis

This is vintage magic from 1921 from P&L. Has P&L Hallmark stamped into of of the edges. Some pitting (can be cleaned up nicely) and paint scratches. Original instructions and magnetic are missing. (We have included suitable replacements).

The subtle mechanical principle which enables the performer to produce, vanish or change the Cards while Box is in the hands of the spectator, is the very essence of indetectability, and may also be used with great effect in mind reading and Spirit message tests.

The SOLID SILVER feature of this Box is in itself a positive guarantee and renders the Hinges and delicate parts immune from corrosion or rust. No Nickel plate to wear or peal off. Secret: You must place the magnet in the upper right corner of the box (and the edge away from the hinge). This is NOT the magnet that came with the item. It will take TIME to open. The flap will open up, Experiment with moving the magnet as pull at it, This thing was meant to withstand inspection. So it will not be easy for you to open! Use only the one magnet in the cornet. (not both on the lid), Use the other magnet as a handle. Patience. It will open. It is not broken. On occasion, you will be able to open immediately. This is a fluke! It is not supposed to open right away.
